Seamless NBN® Switching with Nex Telecom:Key Considerations
Unlock effortless connectivity with Nex Telecom’s nbn® services, designed for a seamless transition and enhanced communication experiences. Our process facilitates next-day connections for existing nbn® users with approved modems, subject to minimal downtime and potential fees for switching.
- Next-day connection is available for customers with an existing nbn® service at the address and an nbn®-approved modem. Delays may occur if you're moving address or for circumstances beyond our control. There will be a short downtime when switching between nbn® providers. Fees and/or notice periods may apply for terminating your service with your existing provider.
- If you're on an nbn® Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) or Fixed Wireless (FW) connection, you will need to contact your current provider to cancel your service. Fees and/or notice periods may apply for terminating your service with your existing provider.
- Fees may apply, including a new development fee of $300.
- Speeds experienced may be lower. Typical evening speeds are based on customer averages between 7 pm-11 pm each day and are not a guaranteed minimum.
- You'll need an nbn® approved modem to use Nex Telecom Broadband. If you're on an nbn® Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or Fibre to the Building (FTTB) connection, your modem must be able to support VDSL2.
- Optional voice add-on includes unlimited standard calls to Australian numbers. Excludes calls to international numbers, satellite, and premium numbers.
- An optional 10% discount automatically applies to your Nex Telecom Mobile renewals when you have an active Nex Telecom Mobile and Nex Telecom Broadband service on the same account (and continues while both services are on that account). Discount does not apply to your Nex Telecom Broadband service. (Q/A Terms)
Nex Telecom provides the AP Broadband service on the nbn® network and you must have an approved modem to operate on that network. Usage is subject to the Fair Go Policy.

Things You Should Know About Phone VoIP
Transferring your phone number to us won't cost you a thing, but it might take 10 to 15 business days, depending on your provider. On the final day before your number is fully ported, there might be a brief period where you can't make or receive calls. If staying connected is crucial for you, dial +0359 111 233 to explore alternatives.
For FTTN, FTTB, and FTTC connections, choosing to keep your current number means it will be lost when your new broadband kicks in. However, if you wish to keep your number active, we can port it to our VoIP service before your broadband starts.
When changing your number, we'll need your current phone details and supplier account number. Be aware that if you're under contract, switching might incur an Early Termination Charge from your current provider.
If you've ordered a Nex Telecom modem, it'll pre-set for your data and voice services. For setting up our VoIP, use your VoIP-ready modem or call our support at +0359 111 233 for assistance.
After activating your VoIP service, we'll confirm via email. Ensure your old provider stops billing you by contacting them once our service starts. Lastly, remove any special features from your old service to prevent delays or issues transferring to Nex Telecom.
Telstra offers Priority Assistance, supporting individuals with life-threatening conditions needing a reliable phone service. Nex Telecom lacks this feature; Telstra remains the exclusive provider under its license. For more, visit Telstra's Priority Assistance page.
Your current analog phone handset is suitable; connect it to the phone port of a VoIP-compatible modem from Nex Telecom. While many handsets are designed for VoIP, they are often better suited for business applications.
